EXPERIENCE:
Selim Berkol worked as an engineer in and before coming to
New Orleans to study for his MBA. Upon completion of his studies, he started his employment with HRI Properties in June of 1996 as an assistant project manager in the development group.
He was promoted to Project Manager in 1998. As the project manager of St. Louis Renaissance Convention Hotel, Suites and Garage projects, his responsibility was the financial structuring of the deals with a total development cost of $285 million. After successfully closing the deals in December 2000, he was promoted to head the finance department. His current responsibilities include corporate as well as project financing and structurings.
Mr. Berkol speaks four languages including German, French, English and Turkish. Besides being a member of the Young Leadership Council and National Trust for Historic Preservation, he is also a board member of the Natural Capital Resource Preservation Foundation
