HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
Abandoned for over ten years, many of the prominent residents of this small city, which is a suburb of New Orleans, went to high school at Hammond Eastside. HRI experimented with low-income housing targeted at artists to bring people, arts and creativity to downtown. The facility includes a 3,000 square foot former auditorium that is available for the low-income artists to work and have opening to the public.
